Warehousing in Korea for Foreign Brands — Ambient Storage & Inventory Hub
The first thing a foreign brand that wants to sell in Korea needs is not flashy marketing but a place to hold goods inside Korea. Korea's fast delivery and returns all begin from a domestic address. RUNIC, which operates ambient storage in Gimpo — about 30 minutes from Incheon Port and Gimpo Airport — has laid out how foreign brands hold inventory in Korea.
Selling in Korea starts with inventory inside Korea
Parcel delivery and returns in Korea both move through a domestic address. Shipping directly from overseas on every order means long clearance and transit times, and returns are effectively hard to accept. When you hold inventory inside Korea, orders go out at domestic delivery speed and returns come back to a domestic address. That is why selling in Korea starts with a storage base inside Korea.
Ambient storage + real-time inventory on our own WMS
Received goods are held in ambient storage on our own WMS, and you as the shipper check stock quantities and locations directly in real time. At receiving, we inspect and record quantity and condition, so damage or quantity discrepancies during transit can be caught early.
30 minutes from Incheon Port and Gimpo Airport — a short leg from clearance to receiving
The Gimpo center is about 30 minutes from Incheon Port and Gimpo Airport, so the inland transport of cleared cargo is short. The distance from the port or airport to the warehouse is exactly what drives transport cost and time. RUNIC operates its own truck brokerage, so it also handles dispatch from the port or airport to the center. We have covered the Incheon Port import flow separately in domestic logistics after import through Incheon Port.
Inbound value-added work alongside storage
Work that a product needs before it goes on sale is handled together with storage.
- Korean-language labels and barcodes — We apply Korean-language labels and inspection barcodes in the required positions. (The content of the labeling and its regulatory compliance are the responsibility of the importer or the party of record; RUNIC applies the labels provided.)
- Bundling and set assembly — We group individually received items into sales units or assemble them into sets, and enclose free gifts.
Inventory is the starting point for delivery and returns
Stored inventory goes out as consumer parcel delivery (B2C) and truck delivery (B2B), and returns come back to a Korean returns address at the same base. The full picture of how storage, delivery, and returns connect through one base, one team is laid out in the Korea-entry logistics hub.
Frequently asked questions
QIs there a minimum storage volume?
Tell us your product categories and expected volume, and we'll lay out how storage, inventory control, and outbound would run, along with a quote. We work out the starting volume together during the consultation.
QCan I see inventory in real time?
Yes. With our own WMS, you as the shipper check stock quantities, locations, and inbound/outbound history directly in real time.
QDo you offer refrigerated or temperature-controlled storage?
The RUNIC center is ambient storage and does not operate refrigerated or temperature-controlled facilities. We store and ship cosmetics and health functional foods at ambient temperature, so for temperature-sensitive items, please discuss the conditions with us in advance.
QHow are customs clearance and the importer of record handled?
RUNIC supports every stage up to clearance through international forwarding, and clearance itself is handled together with a licensed customs broker. The taxpayer (importer of record) and responsibility for regulatory labeling rest with the importer; if you have no Korean entity, we can connect you with a partner customs broker or Korean partner to serve as the name of record.
